Precision Coaching Education Zone

Am I good enough to have a coach?

This is perhaps one of the most common questions we see athletes of all abilities ask of themselves. And the simple answer is… YES. Of course you are!

Coaching isn’t reserved for the so-called ‘best’ athletes, coaching is for everyone.

If you want to set and achieve goals, coaching is for you. If you want to discover and realise your potential, coaching is for you.

If you want to train smarter, stay motivated, and actually enjoy the journey, coaching is for you.

Do I need specific equipment or technology to get involved?

No, you don’t need fancy equipment or the latest tech to get started. The most important thing is simply having the motivation to begin. A basic bike, a pair of running shoes, and access to a pool (or open water) are enough to kick things off. Over time, you can add gear or gadgets that suit your goals and budget—but they’re not a requirement to start your triathlon journey.

How flexible is the training if my plans change or I get injured or ill?

There’s a saying in the military that says “no plan survives first contact” — good coaching accounts for that - life happens after all. Training should be flexible enough to adapt around work, family, travel, injury, or illness. Whether you need to shift sessions, scale things back, or take time to recover, your training can be adjusted to keep you moving forward safely and sustainably. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress, even when things don’t go to plan.

What kind of feedback will I get and how often?

You’ll receive regular, tailored feedback that helps you understand not just what to do, but why it matters. This might include analysis of your sessions, check-ins to review progress, and guidance on areas like pacing, technique, and mindset. How often depends on your coaching setup—but expect consistent communication that keeps you motivated, on track, and always clear on your next steps. Feedback isn’t just data—it’s support, encouragement, and course-correction when you need it.
