01 / EXPERIENCE

A lifetime in sport.
Your next step.

27+years coaching triathlon
18years as a full-time professional coach

Will has been coaching triathlon for more than 27 years, including 18 years as a full-time professional coach. During that time, he has coached hundreds of athletes around the world, from complete beginners and aspiring age-groupers through to elite and professional athletes.

His athletes have achieved considerable success across the sport, including GB Age Group representation, World and European Championship qualification, IRONMAN and Challenge podiums, and qualification for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.

Will has particular experience in ParaTri, supporting athletes from the early stages of rehabilitation and return to sport through to national performance programmes. Most recently, he coached Billy Monger to the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, where Billy broke the double-amputee course record by more than two hours.

Alongside coaching, Will has been closely involved in the development and adoption of emerging endurance-sport technology. An early advocate of data-led, individualised training, he helped drive the development of TriDot in the UK and now serves as VP of Strategic Relationships. He has also instructed on the IRONMAN U coaching programme and currently teaches with the Endurance Sports Coaching Institute (ESCI), helping develop the next generation of endurance coaches.

As Director of Performance at Precision Coaching, Will oversees the performance philosophy that underpins the coaching team. His approach centres on highly individualised training, using contemporary data, technology and evidence-led methodologies rather than relying on generic training models or legacy metrics.

02 / EVERY ATHLETE, INDIVIDUALLY

Who Will Works
Best With

Will works best with athletes who are ambitious about their performance and want to understand how to get better.

You might be chasing your first major finish line, trying to break through a long-standing performance plateau, qualifying for a World or European Championship, or looking for the final few percent that separates a good performance from an exceptional one. The level matters less than your willingness to engage with the process.

You’ll work particularly well with Will if you want to know why you’re doing something, not simply what session comes next. He works with athletes who value honest feedback, are prepared to be accountable and want their training genuinely built around them — their physiology, experience, goals, available time and life outside sport.

There are no templated plans and no coaching by guesswork: technology and data inform the decisions, while the relationship between athlete and coach remains at the centre of the process. This reflects Precision Coaching’s philosophy of combining data-driven platforms with experienced human coaching to deliver precise, individualised and sustainable performance.

If you’re curious, committed and prepared to be coached — whatever your current level — Will is likely to be a very good fit.

The objective is simple: to give every athlete, whatever their starting point or ambition, the environment, expertise and tools to realise their potential.
