Where does your race time go?
Open Men · singlesROXUPDATES analysis · 630,757 finish results across 378 events (2024–2026), including 188,637 Open Men results. These are race records, not unique athletes. Split shares use a filtered subset; its division-specific size is not published. Snapshot: 25 October 2026.
Every second starts somewhere.
Use h:mm:ss or m:ss. Example: 1:30:00 = 90 minutes.
Optional: add your weekly training time
Enter a typical week. Split mixed sessions between running and strength/stations so each minute is counted once. Leave both categories blank to skip.

the attention it deserves.
Eight runs. Eight opportunities. Compare the combined running and Roxzone saving with all eight stations at the same percentage.
What would 10% save you?
At 10%, improving running and Roxzone together saves 0:01:10 more than improving all eight stations combined by the same percentage.
Based on estimated division splits. Running + Roxzone applies the selected running percentage to both areas, following Precision Coaching’s approach. Individual savings are shown in your results. This compares time saved, not how easy either improvement will be.
Move the sliders to explore your next 12 months / season. The running slider also applies its percentage to Roxzone. Both sliders measure time reduction; their colours show the size of the ambition, not which discipline is easier.
Green 0–5%: conservative; amber 6–15%: ambitious; red 16–30%: unlikely for many athletes. These boundaries are illustrative assumptions, not measured 12-month probabilities. Green does not mean easy. Experience, training and starting point matter.

Running offers the biggest saving in this scenario.
This compares your chosen scenarios. It does not predict which area will respond best to training.
Roxzone uses the same 10% reduction as running: 0:00:45 saved, from 0:07:28 to 0:06:43. Precision Coaching applies the running improvement rate to Roxzone, informed by 30 years of multisport coaching. Penalty reductions are excluded.

Sources, calculation & what the evidence can tell us
Rivo: What’s a good HYROX time? supplies all age-group category thresholds and medians here. Its analysis covers 702,095 public race results from 98 venues in the 2025/26 season, retrieved through pyrox-client on 2 September 2026; the page was updated 23 October and checked 29 October 2026. It includes only finishes with all 16 splits and a total between 40 and 300 minutes. This selection may differ from the full race population. We reproduce the published summary tables, not independently recalculated percentiles.
Precision Coaching requires at least 100 results and all three published quartiles for a category. This is stricter than Rivo’s 50-result publishing threshold. Unsupported groups have no median or category displayed. Exact cut-off times belong to the faster band; rounded times and ties mean the displayed bands need not contain exactly 25% each. Repeated races by one athlete contribute multiple records. Rivo is an independent analysis, not HYROX endorsement.
ROXUPDATES: average HYROX times supplies only the headline division split shares and their separate dataset counts (updated 25 October 2026). Those figures are not the Rivo age-group cohort and are not used to assign categories.
Official HYROX 2026/27 Singles Rulebook, section 4.2 supplies the age groups, based on age on race day. This calculator covers singles Open and Pro only.
Without detailed splits, the published rounded percentages are normalised to 100% and allocated to your total. Estimated components are rounded to seconds, with the remainder assigned to Roxzone. Published percentages may total 99.9% or 100.1% due to rounding. Division averages are not age-specific estimates.
Saving = component time × selected percentage / 100, rounded to the nearest second. Roxzone saving = Roxzone time × running percentage / 100, rounded to the nearest second. Modelled finish = original total − running saving − station saving − Roxzone saving. Precision Coaching’s approach, informed by 30 years of multisport coaching, applies the running improvement percentage to Roxzone to reflect the contribution of aerobic fitness across both. Stations retain their separately selected improvement percentage. A 10% time reduction is not the same as a 10% increase in speed. Both sliders use 0–30% in 1% increments.
A 2026 study of PRO and ELITE HYROX results across seven seasons reported substantial running-time improvements and supports the importance of endurance preparation. These competition trends do not establish that a 10% running improvement is easier than a 10% station improvement for every individual or age group. No validated individual 12-month probability model is used here. The slider scale is a scenario assumption. Cross-sectional quartiles cannot establish how much an individual will improve. Different venues, conditions and race populations affect comparisons. Exclude penalties from your baseline when using detailed splits; do not treat missing splits as Roxzone time.
