By Precision Coaching

Your training programme brings together the FitLogic engine, the TriDot or RunDot platform, and a Precision Coaching coach who knows you. This guide introduces the numbers and processes you will encounter as you train.

One engine, two platforms, your coach

FitLogic provides the intelligence behind TriDot for triathlon and RunDot for running. Your coach helps translate that information into training that fits your goals, experience and daily life. The technology supports the conversation; your feedback gives it context.

Dot Scores: a consistent fitness reference

Dot Scores express assessed performance on a common scale. They help you and your coach discuss your current fitness and how it changes over time. Keep assessments and training records accurate so the information remains useful.

EnviroNorm: conditions matter

A pace achieved on a cool day does not necessarily represent the same effort in heat, humidity or at elevation. EnviroNorm is designed to account for environmental conditions when interpreting performance and prescribing training.

Normalized and Residual Training Stress

Normalized Training Stress (NTS) models the demands of a session. Residual Training Stress (RTS) models how those demands carry forward into subsequent days. These are estimates that support planning, rather than direct measurements of exactly how recovered you are.

Dynamic adaptation

Completed training and updated information help shape the programme. Keep your availability, assessments and training records current, and tell your coach about changes that the activity file cannot explain.

TrainX: execution matters

TrainX provides feedback on how closely a session matched its prescription. Duration, intensity and recovery all matter. Use the score to understand the session rather than treating it as a grade for your commitment.

Purpose-built endurance data

The supplied explainer describes a system developed over more than two decades of endurance training data. Its practical value is in helping your coach ask better questions and make informed decisions with you.

Put the guide into practice

  • Read the planned session before starting.
  • Keep your training data and assessments up to date.
  • Add feedback when the numbers do not tell the whole story.
  • Ask your coach what a metric means for your next session.
